AdventureSmart Presenter Training

Winnipeg Search and Rescue (WINSAR), Search and Rescue Manitoba (SARMAN),the Search and Rescue Volunteer Association of Canada (SARVAC) and the National Searcha and Rescue Secretariat (NSS) are pleased to support the expansion of the AdventureSmart  outdoor prevention programs to select organizations involved with outdoor recreational activities in Canada.

Search and Rescue volunteers from across Canada have been involved in presentations across Canada since the program expanded from it’s original base in British Columbia in 1999.

In order to support the voluntary adoption of the AdventureSmart programs by organizations outside of the SAR community, agreements are being signed and training of presenters is being provided. The first training session being offered in Winnipeg is at the Recreations Connections Conference in Winnipeg.  Additional training sessions are being planned Winnipeg area Scout leaders and other similiar organizations.

AdventureSmart Presenter Training – 16 spots for AdventureSmart Presenter training have been made available for Recreation Manitoba delegates. (other participants are welcome – on a first come, first serve basis)

The workshop will be held 25 February 2014 from 0830-1700 in the Kensington Room, Victoria Inn, Winnipeg, MB. Pre-registration is required by 7 February 2014.

Individuals must have prior authorization from their organization, with a mandate in child and youth prog…ramming, injury prevention, sport and/or outdoor recreation, parks and tourism or search and rescue to attend. There is no fee to attend this training and lunch will be provided, however organizations are responsible for all other travel costs for their delegates.
